Chapter 14 I am on her side
Xia Sinian stood up. Remembering the time when he held his sister while she was still a baby made him swore by such a young age that he will protect her. He watched her grow up, he took care of her even after they lost their parents. But right now, he wasn't doing anything for her. He had enough of his coward self. For once, he decided to put everything in risk by walking towards Lu Yifeng and giving a hard punch on his cheek. "My sister is not for sell! I will never give her to a bastard like you!"
Xia Jiamu sighed upon seeing what his grandson did but he never stopped him. This was what he did when Lu Yifeng first arrive in front of them.
Just like that day, Lu Yifeng accepted the punch. He wiped the blood that trickled from the cut of his lips. He calmly turned his head to look at Xia Sinian before he closed his eyes. "What happened to your sister was my fault, I admit it. That's why I want to apologize and make up for it."
Xia Sinian scoffed, "Ha! Apologize? Make up for it? After the trauma you gave her, do you think you can just make things well between you two just because you said so?! I don't care anymore! F*ck the business! F*ck the family! I will never give my sister to you even if it would be the last thing I do!"

He shot his head to his grandfather, "Why are you even siding with him, grandfather?! Why are you even allowing this guy to marry my sister?!! Why are you allowing him in this house?!! The penalty of raping her is death!"
Xia Sinian was so furious that after he shouted all of those, he panted.
"I know it's hard to accept him. Your grandma and I didn't accept him at first as well, we were both filled with rage just like how you are filling right now that even made your grandma fainted!" Xia Jiamu took his walking stick and stood up. "But Lu Yifeng is sincere with his apology. I've never seen a man with such a strong willpower to endure everything we gave him. He could have crushed our family but he didn't do that."
He walked towards Lu Yifeng and placed a hand on his shoulder. "You know that your grandma is a... strong woman who wouldn't let anything slide easily but she also saw the same thing what I did."
"Bullsh*t! Both of you are blinded by this man! He's using his power and both of you are just afraid to oppose him!" Xia Sinian didn't believe them even one bit after seeing how Xia Jiamu stood up for Lu Yifeng.
Lu Yifeng didn't do anything since he knows this was a family matter. He knows that the hardest person he will have to face was Xia Meiren's brother. Lu Yifeng started admiring this part of Xia Sinian. At first, he thought that just like other businessmen, he was willing to sacrifice everything for the business their family have but that wasn't the case, right now, he stood up for his sister.
Xia Jiamu sighed and patted Lu Yifeng's shoulder. "I guess all you need is proof."
Lu Yifeng understood what Xia Jiamu meant that's why he started to unbutton his shirt. Instead of seeing his bare upper body, Xia Sinian saw his bandaged body after Lu Yifeng took his shirt off.

"Your grandma's doing. As a former general, do you think she will not do anything to him? She's not someone who can forgive easily, you know that." Xia Jiamu said.
Lu Yifeng unwrapped the bandages around his body and it was filled with deep wound marks. Ji Ruo gave him a whipping everyday which Lu Yifeng accepted.
Xia Sinian's eyes went wide in surprise after seeing all the slashes on his body. Despite being old, Xia Sinian knows well how heavy Ji Ruo's hands are, receiving a few whips from her can make a person bleed in an instant! But with this too many slashes...
"He came here everyday just to get whipped by your grandmother. We didn't care anymore if he was going to destroy our family. We expected him do something but he didn't. Five hard slashes every day, a wound on top of another, do you know how painful that is? But he endured it all. I can't believe that a man like him can endure something like this. If he's not sincere and genuine then what is it?"

His wounds were being taken care of a maid while he was sitting on the sofa. The pain wasn't seen in his face since he was enduring it very well although he would still flinch from time to time.
Xia Sinian looked at him and turned away, "The decision will still be with my sister. If she doesn't want to marry you, if she doesn't want to be with you then I am on her side." He walked out of the room after he said that.
