Evolution Points: 20

Items on hand: none

Wei Xiao Bei knew that 20 evolution points would not cause any more changes to his Bajiquan skill.

But this was still enough to make him happy.

Following the upgrade from beginner to intermediate, the things Wei Xiao Bei learned from before begun to pop up in his mind. His memory became incredibly clear. The footwork, breathing, and inner force usage that he learned felt a bit more familiar, as if he had practiced them for hours and hours.

These changes gave him the urge to get up and go outside to train.

However, after looking at how his second apprentice brother was having such a pleasant sleep, he was afraid of the consequences of waking him up. Wei Xiao Bei could only suppress his impulse and imagine himself practising for a long time until he fell asleep.

At six in the morning, Wei Xiao Bei was woken up by Zhang Zhi Long. After washing their faces, they arrived at the practice field.

There were already a few people in the outer practice ground.

His master, Cheng Bi Wu, and big senior brother, Liu Jian Cheng, had chosen their own individual tree to lean on.

It was easy to see the difference in their skills based on the movement of the tree.

Everytime Cheng Bi Wu leaned on the tree, the tree and its leaves would suddenly stop moving, and then it would violently shake. His big apprentice brother, on the other hand, could only shake the leaves down from the tree with every lean. It was very clear that Liu Jian Cheng would need a lot more training before he could catch up to their master.

On the other hand, his third apprentice brother, Yao Wu, was currently practicing with the wooden pillars. His hands were like artillery shells, smashing the wooden pillar over and over. Wei Xiao Bei’s eyelids almost jumped at the scene.

On the other side, his senior apprentice sister, Cheng Si Si, was currently holding a great spear, jumping and turning around. The great spear moved like a dragon, sometimes high up, sometimes low. It was so majestic that it could shock anyone watching. Based on the force of the spear alone, it was hard to tell that this was executed by an 18 year old girl.

“Stop looking already. Let us continue last night’s lesson. Xiao Bei, show me the ones I taught you first. I will correct your mistakes.”

Zhang Zhi Long waved his hand in front of Wei Xiao Bei a few times to bring him back to his senses.

But afterwards, Wei Xiao Bei’s performance had left him dumbstruck. He even thought that he was still asleep, and that this was all a dream.

“Bang!”

Wei Xiao Bei was currently doing the many different forms of stamping footwork such as the point stamp, forward stamp, backward stamp, etc. A loud bang echoed every time he stomped on the limestone floor.

These basic footwork forms looked easy at first glance, but learning them to a skilled degree was something that could not be done in just two days.

When he was a soldier, he had learned Qin Di Quan’s feint step, but training it to a skilled degree took him hours. In reality, Qin Di Quan’s feint step was developed from Bajiquan’s forward step.

However, in front of Zhang Zhi Long’s eyes, Wei Xiao Bei was already capable of doing these stamps to a skilled degree. This kind of degree had previously taken him an entire month to reach.

This was the reason why Zhang Zhi Long felt as if he was still asleep.

After a while, Wei Xiao Bei’s movements begun to attract Chang Bi Wu and the other’s attention.

After Wei Xiao Bei demonstrated all the basic training forms, Cheng Bi Wu walked over and looked at Wei Xiao Bei, pleasantly surprised.

This result was something Cheng Bi Wu would have never imagined.

Wei Xiao Bei had already reached this level in the foundation after only a single night.

After seeing him, Cheng Bi Wu started to question whether there were really geniuses in this world.

Cheng Bi Wu never suspected whether Wei Xiao Bei had hid any past experience in martial arts. After all, he was looking at Wei Xiao Bei from afar, while he was practicing with Zhang Zhi Long last night.

Wei Xiao Bei definitely had never learned any related martial arts. The strangeness in his footwork and other movements last night were impossible to fake.

Cheng Bi Wu had confidence in this.

“Master, junior brother apprentice, he…”

Zhang Zhi Long could not speak any words clearly and only pointed at Wei Xiao Bei.

“It’s alright. Just continue teaching at this pace. When he knows how to do one thing, teach him another.”

Curiosity grew from Cheng Bi Wu’s mind. He wanted to see how far Wei Xiao Bei could go, to see if he was a real genius or if it was only a stroke of luck.

Following their master’s words, Zhang Zhi Long continuously taught Wei Xiao Bei aside from breaks during breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Yao Wu had temporarily substituted Zhang Zhi Long in teaching the normal students.

Naturally, whether it was breakfast or dinner, Wei Xiao Bei had once again let everyone witness his huge appetite.

Cheng Si Si, who prepared the meal, muttered, “Are you going to eat us out of house and home?”

The quantity of rice was a problem. The truth was, any martial artist would eat a lot of rice compared to normal people.

The words ‘a person cannot fight on an empty stomach’ was not untrue.

As a result, Cheng Si Si’s utter had merited her a chop from Chang Bi Wu. From Cheng Bi Wu’s point of view, the more Wei Xiao Bei ate, the better. Food expenses were nothing to him.

Actually, there were many times when the dojo did not only rely on the tuition fees.

On that day, Wei Xiao Bei had been terribly force fed. Materials that would have normally taken others half a year to learn, were taught to him twice by Zhang Zhi Long in just one day. Based on Wei Xiao Bei’s rate of improvement, one more week would be enough to teach him tens of foundational footwork, breathing and force exertion skills. He might even be able to learn various static stances and basic fighting moves by the end of it.

Zhang Zhi Long’s fast paced teaching had even piqued the interest of his big apprentice brother, who was currently leaning against a tree.

After all, none of the three disciples had taken less than a year to learn all the basics.
