Afterword

Hello, Ebisu Seiji here.

As you can see, this has been the final volume of "Ore Ga Suki Nano Wa Imouto Dakedo Imouto Janai." Phew, I sure get emotional writing the afterword like this. It feels great to finish writing something you've worked on for so long. At the same time, I feel relieved that we managed to publish it until the very end. Though I feel sad that it's over now. I'm not even sure which emotion is the prominent one.

Either way, I believe that this was a proper end to Yuu and Suzuka's story. Even I was a bit worried about what would happen to these problematic siblings, but I feel satisfied after seeing this ending.

Now then, how did you enjoy this last volume? I don't know at what point in time you picked up this series, but I hope you liked it to the very end. Although my point of the story ends here, I hope that Yuu and Suzuka, or the others like Mai, Double Peace-sensei, Minazuki-san, the Kanzaka sisters, Shinozaki-san, or even Esaka-san, will live on in the hearts of all of you as a precious memory.

In a certain sense, this almost feels like the children I raised are now standing on their own two feet, and even I as the parent don't know how they'll live their lives from now on. I might find myself imagining what Yuu and Suzuka are up to a few years into the future from now on, and I hope that they've had enough of an impact for you as well. If this story found its place in your heart, even in just the smallest corner, I couldn't be happier.

Thinking about it, it's been three years since I started this series, but the amount of time that has passed still doesn't feel real to me. The time when I wrote the manuscript for the first volume feels like it was just yesterday, but in reality, it's been more than three years. Just as much time as would pass for someone to graduate from high school. Even so, it feels more than unreal.

Naturally, it all thanks to the people who supported me that we've made it this far. I really put a lot of work on the editors who are responsible for me. I had them follow me through my testing period for this series. They read the original plot countless times to improve upon it, giving me precious advice. Without that, I'm sure I wouldn't have been able to create this series. The same goes for my precious illustrator, Gintarou-san, who has continued to draw wonderful illustrations for my series. I cannot thank you enough.

And of course, my greatest thanks goes out to all my readers who have stuck with this series through all its ups and downs. Thank you very much. I have thanked you all countless times, but I have to emphasize it one last time here.

Finally, about what happens next. With the final volume of "ImoImo" releasing, I also published my new work. Naturally, I couldn't go without putting a "Little sister" in the title, so if you're interested, feel free to have a look.

As my final words, I hope that we get the chance to see each other again in the future—

The 19th of January, Ebisu Seiji.
