Chapter 8 Magic Training II

"Okay, let's try this water magic"

Ilya hand the book to Erwin, there are many magic spells written in the book, from basic spell magic to intermediate spell magic.

Ilya picked up another book while Erwin's trying to remember the magic formation for the water magic he needs to learn, he's so focused, and he's also looking at other magic spells, he went through some pages of the book.

"Big sis, can I try it now?"

Erwin stands up and walks to face the planks his sister arranged, they about to use it as target practice for the magic control.

"Sure go ahead"

Ilya closes the book she held and pay attention to her little brother, Yuika is fine now, she's not trembling and feel terrified anymore but she is still holding Ilya's hand.

Erwin makes some distance from the planks, he's trying to focus, and he's getting ready to cast the magic.

[ Water Magic, Water Cannon ]

Erwin takes a position and pointed his finger, he's aiming at the planks with his forefinger and created the magic circle on top of his forefinger, then a water ball travels in such high-speed coming out from the magic circle and hit the planks arranged side by side all at once.

"You see that big sis? Did you see that?"

Erwin looks so excited when he hit both of the planks, he turned around and face his sister and he's hoping that she will praise him for successing to use magic on the first try, Ilya who is standing behind him is now standing and stunned, Erwin was so confused, he tilts his head looking at his big sister who seems to be dumbfounded.

"Ilya big sis, are you okay?"

A soft voice coming from Yuika who's holding Ilya's hand all-time, Ilya was so dazed and look confused.

"Ah, I'm okay, I'm just too amazed by how Erwin is able to cast magic with such speed, people usually take a while to cast their magic"

Yuika was so dazed too after Ilya explains why she was amazed by Erwin that he was able to cast magic faster than people usually do.

"Erwin, amazing?"

Yuika tilts her head, she doesn't really understand why Ilya was so amazed by what Erwin just did, but she still dazed by the fact that Ilya is also dumbfounded right after she saw Erwin cast the water cannon magic.

"Yeah he's pretty amazing"

Ilya gently pats Yuika's head, she looks excited that she knew Erwin just did something amazing.

- Erwin really does have talent, I guess I just hit the jackpot for correctly guessing his element

Ilya picks up the book she read before and went through some pages to find what spell Erwin can learn, she needs to find a new spell she can teach to Erwin, Ilya wanted Erwin to see her as a reliable big sister.

"Hey Erwin, wanna try this one?"

Ilya walks closer to Erwin and handover the book she held,

"It's an expansion of water magic, let's see if you can do it"


Erwin took the book and try to read everything and remembering it, he's so focused on the book.

Yuika has let go Ilya's hand and sitting on the bench all-time after that, she kept her eyes on Erwin, she looks impressed by everything Erwin did, no matter what it is, she always thinks that Erwin is amazing.

"He's an amazing boy isn't he Yuika-chan?"

Yuika shocked when Ilya appears next to her out of nowhere, Ilya sure loves to tease Yuika, she thinks of how funny it is to tease a young maiden in love, but they didn't notice it themselves.

Ilya sits next to Yuika and open another book, Yuika seems to get interested in magic now after seeing the 2 siblings practicing it.

"Umm... Ilya-nee, isn't that magic you just taught Erwin is magic to attack someone?"

Ilya was shocked by what Yuika just asked, she starts to ask such thing suddenly, Ilya's trying to be calm, she closes the book she's holding right now and gently stroke Yuika's head.

"There was one time an adventurer come to our store, they stay quite long in the store, having fun with Erwin. They're good people who love children. They told Erwin a lot of stories about how wonderful outside world is, they told Erwin about their dream of making orphanage and stuff for children, something like they don't want to see children crying over cruelty of the world because of the adults, Erwin really takes alike for them and said he wanted as an adventurer like them"

Ilya's making a sad face when she's telling Yuika a story from the past, she looks down and tears are about come out from her eyes, Yuika tries to wipe the tear away, and she held Ilya's hand to calm her down.

"Ah it's nothing, I just got dust in my eyes"

Ilya gets her smile back on her face, it makes Yuika relieved when Ilya smiles back again.
